North Shore, Auckland, New Zealand | Completed 2008
The design of the bridge was born out of a series of formal experimentation with the properties of glue-laminated timber beams. Unique rib components were geometrically crafted with varying lengths which once grouped in a specific order emerge into the undulating sinuous form. This dynamic form conceals its concrete base and at the same time, delivers an organic sensory experience for its users and by-passers.
